How Do I Join?

To become a member of St. Brigid’s Credit Union you must be living or working within our common bond (6 mile radius of Clara & Moate).

Under the Criminal Justice Act, we require all new members to provide the following documentation when opening an account:

Adults:

  • Current Passport or Drivers Licence
  • Current Utility Bill or Bank Statment showing your current address (dated less than 3 months old)
  • Copy of your PPS number

Children:

  • Current Passport or Birth Certificate
  • Parents – Current Utility Bill or Bank Statment showing the current address (dated less than 3 months old)
  • Copy of PPS Number for Child

Joint Accounts – For Both Applicants:

  • Current Passport or Drivers Licence
  • Current Utility Bill or Bank Statment showing the current address (dated less than 3 months old)
  • Copy of PPS Number

Is there a minimum amount I need to open an account?

To be a member of St. Brigid’s Credit Union we ask that you lodge €1 to open an account which you will need to maintain to keep your account open.

Affiliation fee

An annual affiliation fee is deducted from members accounts in December, this is the ILCU (Irish League of Credit Unions) affiliation fee.

Please be aware that our staff are obliged to comply fully with all aspects of the Criminal Justice Act and you will be asked for documentation if you change address or open up a further account.

All transactions, including foreign exchange, are subject to this Act.
